Biographie

Terrence Musekiwa est né en 1990, à Seke, Zimbabwe.

Il vit et travaille entre Londres et Harare.


Le sculpteur zimbabwéen, a commencé à tailler la pierre à l'âge de cinq ans, apprenant d'abord auprès de son père avant de s'éloigner des conventions traditionnelles. Son travail mêle l'art traditionnel et contemporain, fusionnant pierre et objets industriels pour aborder des thèmes comme la politique, le commerce et les difficultés sociales du Zimbabwe, tout en rendant hommage à la culture locale. Il a exposé dans de nombreuses galeries à travers le monde, et ses œuvres sont présentes dans des collections permanentes, comme celles de la National Gallery of Zimbabwe et du Département d'État des États-Unis. En 2022, il représente le Zimbabwe à la Biennale de Venise et participe à la Biennale de Dakar.
